Wild Winter Night – Raises $25,000
$10k raised specifically for upgrades to accept more animals…
From our good friends at Wild Care Cape Cod:
Wild Care Inc., the wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center located in Eastham, hosted its mid-winter celebration,“WILD WINTER NIGHT” on Saturday, February 10th at the Eastham Elks Lodge.
Wild Care supporters and friends enjoyed delicious food from George’s Place Fish Market, live music and raffles, and a chance to bid on hundreds of exciting silent and live auction items including hotel stays, animal-themed gift baskets, restaurant certificates, artwork, and much more. The live auction was hosted by the acclaimed, highly charismatic John Terrio of Auction Knights.
“We are grateful to everyone who attended”, states Stephanie Ellis, Wild Care’s Executive Director. “We had a full house of 168 people. The room was filled with hundreds of auction items donated by over 75 local businesses and individuals. We also had 14 event sponsors this year to help us underwrite the costs of the event. Of the $25,000 raised, $10,000 was raised specifically for Wild Care’s “Fund the Need” request – to expand our current kitchen and lobby to accommodate more animals.” Wild Care has reached $10,000 of their $11,000 goal to begin Phase I of this 3-year renovation project…
“You could feel the love in the room”, states Ellis. The deep appreciation for Wild Care’s work, and the support from the community was very apparent at this event, and we are grateful!”
Wild Care would like to extend a special thanks to Garvey Communication Associates Inc. for generously creating the Fund the Need video shown at the event. George’s Place Fish Market of Harwich Port, for providing a delicious fish fry, lobster rolls, clam chowder, and more. Thank you to John Terrio, live auctioneer from Auction Knights, Bert Jackson & Scott Lariviere of the Bert Jackson Quartet, for providing live music, and thank you to the Elk’s Lodge of Eastham for hosting the event at their location for the 3rdconsecutive year…
