Consider a donation towards the care of a seabird! With Cape Cod jetting out 30 miles into the Atlantic Ocean, our waters are home to hundreds of thousands of seabirds. Many of these birds spend there winter in our offshore waters. Birds such as Atlantic Puffins, Northern Gannets, Common Murres, Dovekies and more are battered by winter storms, entangled in fishing gear, ill due to ingestion of fishing debris and more. During the summer months, Wild Care receives Common Terns, a species that breeds on the barrier beaches of Cape Cod and then migrates south, some as far as South America. Wild Care receives hundreds of seabirds annually. Their rehabilitation is intense, requiring conditioning in our state of the art cold and warm-water seabird therapy pools. These pools help get the birds waterproof and back on the wing and into the wild.
