Wildlife Spring Talk Series
Join Wild Care this spring for some interesting and informative talks all about wildlife. Learn some “coyote smart” tips, find out what to do if you find a baby animal, or animal in distress, and how to coexist with wildlife in your backyard. Follow the story of Osprey chicks from eggs to wild fostering while learning about the history of Osprey on Cape Cod.

Osprey – Egg Incubation, Chick Rearing, and Live Fostering

Wild Care Director Stephanie Ellis will discuss her experience with incubating Osprey eggs, raising chicks, and finding suitable wild foster nests and the challenges she and her team face along the way. She will also touch upon the history of Osprey on Cape Cod – a true conservation success story, coexisting with Osprey, and the legalities involved in working with Osprey nests, eggs and chicks.

“Help! I found a baby bird… There’s a baby squirrel at my doorstep… Now what?” Wild Care, Inc. is a nonprofit wildlife hospital located in Eastham that is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured and orphaned wildlife on Cape Cod. Wild Care operates a Wildlife Helpline, and treats over 1,700 animals per year; everything from Snowy Owls to White-footed Mice. Wild Care’s Executive Director Stephanie Ellis will cover “what to do” when you find young animals in distress, who to call on Cape Cod, and will dispel myths about coyotes and give tips for coexisting with our wild neighbors. Join Stephanie for this fun and informative talk!
This talk is free and open to the public. Walk ins welcome. Seating limited.
